This week's Primo Sampler is quite the mixed bag of smokes....all with complex flavor profiles and all guaranteed to satisfy.
CABAIGUAN GUAPAS MADURO (Nicaragua)
Named after the famous cigar making town in Cuba, this is another hit from the blending genius of Pete Johnson. A medium-bodied smoke with a firm but very even draw producing the perfect solid ash. The flavors are earthy with notes of minerals and wood. Primo Strength Rating: 6
SAN LUIS REY SERIES G ROTHCHILDE (Honduras)
You can't help salivating when seeing the dark, oily Connecticut broadleaf wrapper that adorns this medium to full-bodied stick. There are creamy notes of nutmeg and almonds with some floral undertones from start to finish. A little work is required to keep this cigar lit at the finish (a re-light or two) due to the extremely oily tobacco, but, that just means more extreme flavor. Primo Strength Rating: 8
ILLUSIONE ROTHCHILDE CONNECTICUT (Nicaragua)
This is Illusione's first foray into Connecticut wrappers, albeit grown in Ecuador. This small but mighty stick has tons of complex flavors with an easy draw and medium body. Experience grassy notes upon light-up building up to a peppery finish. Primo Strength Rating: 6
Primo Strength Rating: 5
PADRON DELICIAS NATURAL (Nicaragua)
You know the name and now you get one in our Sampler. This medium to full-bodied box-pressed cigar opens with distinct pepper notes that segue into a mélange of cocoa, roasted nuts and a woody finish. Primo Strength Rating: 7
A $37 value - for only $30!
CIGAR TIP OF THE WEEK: This one is as basic and simple as it can get. A true cigar smoker ALWAYS has a lighter and cutter in his or her pocket!
