Wow! This week we are taking a tour of Johnsonville. No brats here....just four of Pete Johnson's finest....all crafted in the Garcia facility in Esteli, Nicaragua.
L'ATELIER LA MISSION 1989
This is a slightly box-pressed, pigtailed stick of joy! The draw is slightly firm, but, delivering sweet cedary notes leading to a citrus finish due to the San Andres wrapper and rare Sancti Spiritus filler. Primo Strength Rating: 6
L'ATELIER IDENTITE NO. 3 MALANGE SPECIAL
Now we're talkin' rich and robust! Definitely full-bodied. This is a hefty and dense cigar with a tantalizingly oily wrapper. This one starts out earthy with notes of charcoal....producing smoke as dense as the cigar....with hints of spice and peppermint at the finish. Primo Strength Rating: 9
L'ATELIER EXTENSION DE LA RACINE ER17
This cigar is a medium to full smoke with a perfect draw and even ash. A very complex stick with a hybrid binder....made in limited amounts. Intensely rich chocolate and caramel notes throughout....all the way to the finish. Primo Strength Rating: 8
L'ATELIER SURROGATES CRYSTAL BALLER
A dark Ecuador Habano wrapper covers this medium-bodied stick with a very smooth draw. The first half is extremely creamy then develops into a tangy, spicy finish. Primo Strength Rating: 6
superior value at $40 (retail value $48) - while supplies last!
CIGAR TIP OF THE WEEK: For some reason a lot of cigar smokers remove the band before lighting up. Why not leave it on and impress your friends and fellow smokers? After all, would you peel off the label from a bottle of Dom Perignon?
